In order to be able to hold symphonic open-air concerts, a theatre has been built into the mountain-side, taking advantage of the natural slope facing the Bay of Forio. Great walls of stone and natural rocks surround it, creating excellent acoustics, while aromatic thyme carpets the steps, releasing its fragrance.
The Greek Theatre, which is used in the summer months, can hold up to four hundred spectators and is surrounded by a forest of oaks and Chinese roses (Rosa chinensis “Mutabilis” and Rosa chinensis Sanguinea).
