Along the side of the hill, in a spot that looks out over the garden and the entire Bay of Forio, stands William’s Rock, which contains the Maestro’s ashes. It is a natural stone pyramid, once a boundary marker, which Sir William Walton declared to be “his rock” on the day the property was purchased.
A carved arch has been erected among the olive trees, in order to frame this spot. This is one of the most evocative and beautiful spots in the entire garden.
